Step Write Through into Clarity, Confidence and Joyful Obedience
Is God inviting you to share your testimony, but you just don't know where to start or have you gotten stuck half way through the process? Have you hit up against obstacles you just can't seem to overcome, not seeing a way through?
I would so love to come alongside you, not only to offer my skills and experience as a writing coach, but to prayerfully help you discern and step into Christ's Way through for you.
This Way through could include helping you to prayerfully discern your first steps forward, as we invite God to help you (better) define:

why He has called you to share your testimony

who He wants to bless through you

what He wants you to share and what not

how your stories fit together into a beautiful whole
Or it could be helping you become unstuck in the middle steps, as we invite God to help you refine what you have written already to:

structure it in a way that is clear, helpful and logical

soften the tone of your text to be humble, warm and inviting, and

add imagery through descriptive phrases that better capture the beauty, power and majesty of Christ's work in your life.
If and how I can best help you is something only Jesus knows, which is why I offer a free intake call to pray together and ask the Lord to guide us. If you decide you'd like my help, I will also ask you to pray about what the Lord would like you to give me, whether that is an hourly rate, a set amount or a non-financial exchange. I trust Him to guide you and help you decide in your heart what you would like to give and are able to give, wholeheartedly and with joy. Know that I too am looking for someone to read my own manuscript (Your Fatih Will Not Fail: Praying Your Prodigal Home) and to help me prayerfully discern and step write through into the next steps God has set before me too. I too am looking for those whom the Lord has given the sight I need to shed what is not of Him and hold tight to what is.
MY MOTIVATION
Why I Long to Help You
I was privileged to grow up with a teacher who walked me through the process of writing, showing me how to plan, draft, edit and complete beautiful essays. I never realized how special this gift truly was until I began walking through some of the hardest trials of my life.During those trials, writing became a way for me to draw near to God, to move toward and through lament to praise, but also to share His goodness and mercy with those around me in ways that drew them closer to God also.
Now, as I continue to step write through into God's grace, with each new trial I walk through, I am meeting others who, like me, long to share their growing testimonies with others to bless them. As I have prayerfully come alongside them, I have come to realize that God has given me unique gifts and talents He desires me to use for His glory. He has given me the ability to help others write and share their testimonies with confidence, clarity and joy. Beautifully, I have been privileged to watch Him uncovering ever more of His compassionate heart in them and for their God-ordained audience in the process.
Because of my unique life and faith experiences as a third culture kid, missionary kid, pastor's kid, au pair and returned Prodigal, I often notice details others don't. I am able to see how seemingly disconnected pieces of our lives fit together into a beautiful tapestry of grace. I am also able to sense where a lamp shade is still covering over the beauty of Christ in others and could potentially push away the audience they so long to and are destined to bless.
How could I not offer back this wealth of experience God has given me to honor Him and bless you?
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
I am a native (New Zealand) English speaker with a Master of Arts in Teaching English (cum laude) from the University of Amsterdam (UvA), a Master of Arts in European Studies (cum laude) also from the UvA and a Bachelor of Arts (double major in History and German) from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand. During my Bachelors, I also completed an exchange semester at the University of Konstanz in Germany.
Currently, I work as a part-time freelance academic writing coach, volunteer as a staff writer and TCK Voices Manager for TCKs for Christ and share my own growing testimony, weekly Scriptural prayers and the testimony of others on Substack. But I also have a wealth of past experience as a high school English teacher and an International Baccalaureate English Language and Literature teacher in the Netherlands. Before becoming a teacher, I also authored, edited and translated (from Dutch into English) online texts for the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM in the Netherlands).
Additionally, I have experience drafting ministerial letters, managing the NGO Desk and the Crown Entities and Health and Disability Commissioner portfolios at the Ministry of Health (in New Zealand). Finally, I also have invaluable life experiences working as an au pair in Germany and Switzerland, volunteering as a youth coach, offering (weekly) social interaction for isolated elderly women and being a mentor to senior high school pupils walking through really hard trials.
